Get Ready for Sunday: Living Water for Thirsty Souls

Hey Northbrook Family & Friends!

This Sunday is Forward Celebration Sunday, and I’m genuinely looking forward to it. We’ll share what the Lord has done through your pledges and kickstart gifts, and we’ll celebrate several baptisms as well. It’s going to be a powerful reminder that God is at work among us, both in our shared mission and in individual hearts. I can’t think of a better combination than stepping forward together in faith and watching new life publicly declared.

As we prepare for Sunday, it’s possible to feel spiritually thirsty and not even realize how dehydrated you’ve become. So think about this, where have you been going to quench the deeper thirst of your soul? We live in a world full of wells, but most of them leave us coming back empty. That matters because what you keep returning to will quietly shape your life.

This Sunday in John 4:4-26, as part of our SEEN series, we’ll watch Jesus encounter a Samaritan woman who had been drawing from broken wells for years. He doesn’t shame her. He doesn’t avoid her. He graciously diagnoses her thirst and offers her living water. This isn’t just a story about an outsider long ago. It’s about how Jesus meets us right where we are and invites us into real satisfaction that only He can give.

Here’s a question to carry with you this week...if Jesus asked you to bring back the one thing you rely on for peace and satisfaction, what would you return with?

Let’s come ready to celebrate what God has done, to worship with full hearts, and to bring our empty buckets to the only One who can fill them.
