Get Ready for Sunday: What if your pain is a warning light?

This Week at Northbrook: July 25, 2025

Pain always points to something. It may feel random or overwhelming, but what if it’s actually a warning light, telling you something deeper is going on? What if the heaviness you feel is not punishment but a loving invitation?

This Sunday, we’ll walk through Psalm 38—an honest, gut-wrenching cry from someone crushed under the weight of sin. David isn’t just feeling bad; he’s feeling broken. But through that brokenness, God shows us how to deal with our sin, not bury it. We’ll talk about what it looks like to stop running, own the mess, and truly experience God’s restoring mercy.

Here’s a question to carry with you this week: Are you ignoring what God is trying to heal, simply because you’re not ready to admit it’s there?

I’m praying we all come with hearts ready to stop fighting and start surrendering.

Family Fun at City Mini Golf

Wednesday, July 30, from 6-8pm [ ‹ note the time change ]

It's hole-in-one kinda fun! Join us for a fantastic Family Night at City Park Mini Golf on Wednesday, July 30, from 6-8 pm! We invite families of kids and students of all ages for an evening of fun, fellowship, sno cones, and mini-golf. The event is free (dinner not provided).

It will simply be sub-par if you're not there, so make sure you don't miss out...and bring a friend!
