Get Ready for Sunday: Crossing the Holy Divide

This Week at Northbrook: August 1, 2025

We’re kicking off a brand-new series this week called Threads, where we’ll trace the core truths of the gospel—truths that connect every part of our faith and transform the way we live.

Holiness is where it all begins. God’s holiness is a reality that exposes our hearts and changes our lives. So here’s the question, have you ever truly considered what would happen if you stood in the presence of a perfectly holy God?

This Sunday, we’ll step into Isaiah 6:1-9, where the prophet Isaiah encounters the Lord seated on his throne, high and lifted up. In a single moment, Isaiah is undone by God’s glory, cleansed by his grace, and sent out with purpose. This passage reminds us that the gap between God and us is real, but in Jesus, that holy divide has been crossed for us.

Take time this week to reflect on that If I really grasped God’s holiness, what in my life would I surrender to him without hesitation?

I can’t wait to begin this journey together as we learn, remember, and live out the threads of the gospel.
