Get Ready for Sunday: "But Now..." - Read Romans 3:9-26

Hey Northbrook Family & Friends!

I hope you’ve had a good week so far. I’m really looking forward to being together again this Sunday. There'll be a lot of excitement around campus this week as Pine Cove City gets ready to kick off Monday. Over the next week, our church will be filled with kids laughing, learning, singing loudly, and hearing the gospel again and again. That’s a gift.

As you think about camp this week, I want to encourage you to pray intentionally. Pray for the kids coming through our doors, that the Lord would soften hearts early and draw many of them to Christ. And pray for the Pine Cove counselors as well, as they pour themselves out leading, loving, and investing in our kids. Pray God would strengthen them, protect them, and use them powerfully this week.

And honestly, that kind of prayer matters because underneath all the noise and busyness of life, every person is carrying a deeper need than we often realize. Most people spend their lives trying to prove themselves, fix themselves, distract themselves, or justify themselves. We know something is broken, but we don’t know how to fix it. And the harder we try to clean ourselves up apart from God, the heavier life becomes.

This Sunday in Romans 3:9–26, we come to one of the most hope-filled turns in all of Scripture. After exposing the depth of our guilt and sin, Paul points us to the only true hope we have—Jesus Christ. The law can expose what’s broken in us, but it cannot heal us. Jesus did what the law was never designed to do. He took our place, satisfied the wrath we deserved, and now offers us His righteousness as a gift of grace.

So here’s a question worth wrestling with this week...what are you trusting—the thing you instinctively turn to—to make you right, whole, or enough?

Let’s come ready to worship deeply, listen carefully, and rest again in the good news of the gospel.

Join us on Wednesday, June 10, for a special Caring Center Open House. Walk-through tours of the renovated building will begin at 6pm, followed by a brief celebration service at 7pm as we thank God for His faithfulness and pray over the continued ministry that will take place there in the days ahead. Overflow parking will be available at the Fairgrounds, and shuttle service will be provided.

We’d love for you to come celebrate this meaningful moment with us.

Deacon Nominations
