Are You Prepared for Eternity? Let's Get Ready for Sunday

I hope you’ve had a great week. Easter at Northbrook is just around the corner, and we’re looking forward to gathering together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Don’t forget about our Good Friday service as well. It’s always a meaningful time to slow down, reflect on the cross, and prepare our hearts for the hope of Easter Sunday.

And as we step into this Easter week, we’re not just remembering what happened back then. We’re being invited to consider how we are responding to the cross right now.

This Sunday, we’ll be in Luke 23:32-43, where we listen in on a powerful moment at the crucifixion. Three voices speak from the cross, and each one reveals something about the human heart. The way each person responds to Jesus in that moment shows us something deeper: how ready they are for eternity.

This passage presses us beyond surface familiarity with the cross and into a personal response. It’s easy to misunderstand Jesus or keep Him at a distance. It’s harder to admit our need for Him. But for those who do, there’s a promise that changes everything: “Today you will be with me.”

Here’s a question to carry with you this week...how are you responding to the cross right now, and what does that reveal about where you stand with Jesus?

Let’s come ready to reflect, to respond, and to fix our eyes on Christ as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

What’s Happening

Celebrate Easter at Northbrook!

Easter reminds us that failure is never the final word.

Join us as we celebrate the hope of the resurrection. Our weekend begins with Good Friday, April 3 at 6:00pm, a reflective service remembering Christ’s sacrifice. Then on Easter Sunday, April 5, gather with us at:

  • 9:00am for Free Brunch, and

  • 10:30am for Worship

Our Easter message concludes the SEEN series with Peter: The Restored Disciple (John 21:15–19)—a powerful reminder that Jesus meets our failure with grace and calls us forward again.

Nursery and Preschool Worship available for infants through Pre-K.

Invite someone and celebrate Easter together.

Reach ONE Challenge

Live Sent. Engage the Community. Extend Hope.

Pray for one person God has placed in your life who needs Jesus. Look for simple, intentional ways to engage them this week—you never know how God might use one step of faith for eternal impact.

You don’t have to do everything. Just take one step.

Invite. Pray. Start a conversation.

You can grab a Reach ONE sticker or magnet as a reminder to step into this challenge of reaching our community with the gospel.
