Every one of us is being shaped by whatever we give our deepest attention and affection to. So let me ask you: what has been quietly pulling your focus away from Jesus lately?

This week in Transfixed, we’re looking at Hebrews 1:4-14, a passage that reminds us why our faith rests on only Jesus. In a world full of competing voices and impressive substitutes—at least surface-level—, Hebrews shows us the unmatched authority, goodness, and rule of Christ. Angels may be powerful, creation may be breathtaking, and life may offer a thousand distractions, but none of them can save, sustain, or satisfy. Advent isn’t merely about remembering that Jesus came as a baby—it’s about fixing our gaze on the One who reigns right now with unshakeable authority and unrivaled glory.

As you prepare your heart this week, consider this: where have you slipped into treating Jesus as important but not supreme...and what might change if you truly lived as though he is Lord over everything?

Let’s gather ready to look fully, closely, and joyfully at Jesus together.
