What you give your attention to eventually shapes your direction. So let me ask you: are you steadily gazing at Jesus, or slowly drifting with only an occasional glance his way?

This Sunday in our Advent series Transfixed, we’ll turn to Hebrews 2:1-4, where we’re warned that spiritual drift doesn’t happen through rebellion but through neglect. These verses were written to tired, pressured believers who were tempted to loosen their grip on Christ. The call is simple but urgent: pay close attention, hold fast, and keep your focus fixed on Jesus. A steady gaze on Christ is not just how faith begins, it’s how faith endures, especially when weariness and distraction threaten to pull us off course.

Here’s a question to sit with this week: if someone looked at the patterns of your life right now, would they see steady devotion to Jesus or subtle drift away from him?

Let’s come ready to slow down, refocus, and fix our eyes once again on the One who holds us fast.
