Get Ready for Sunday: Trusting God When Seasons Change

Happy Saturday! I hope you’ve had a good week. I’m really looking forward to being together again this Sunday. There’s something refreshing about gathering with your church family, singing together, opening God’s Word, and being reminded we don’t walk through life alone. Also, a quick update from the Elder Council: they are recommending Jason Dockery to serve as an elder. The congregation will vote on May 17. Please join us in praying for Jason, our current elders, and for the Lord’s continued leadership over Northbrook.

And that reminder of God’s leadership is timely, because life often moves through seasons we didn’t expect and can’t control. Some seasons are joyful and full of momentum. Others are heavy, confusing, or nothing like what we would've chosen. Which raises an honest question, when life shifts unexpectedly, can God still be trusted there too?

Tomorrow, we’ll be in Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 as part of our CLEAR series. It’s a familiar passage, but far deeper than many realize. "The Preacher" reminds us that every season of life is under the sovereign hand of God. Birth and death, laughter and tears, planting and uprooting, waiting and moving forward, none of it is random.

This passage doesn’t promise easy answers, but it does give solid ground. Since God controls all of time, we can trust Him with all of ours. Even when we don’t understand what He's doing, we can know He's doing something wise, purposeful, and lasting.

Here’s a question to reflect on this coming week...what season of life are you resisting right now that God may be using to shape you?

Let’s come ready to worship with open hands, steady hearts, and renewed trust in the God who holds every season.

Kingdom Investor Focus

How We Live with Eternal Perspective

At Northbrook, this present life is not the whole story. When eternity shapes our priorities, we hold earthly things loosely and invest in what lasts. Kingdom Investors live today in light of forever.
