We often talk about legacy, but most of the time we mean reputation. Legacy is different. Legacy is what gets passed on, not just what gets remembered. So here’s the question worth slowing down for: what is actually being passed on through your life right now? This matters because every life leaves something behind, whether we’re intentional about it or not.
This Sunday in our FORWARD series, we’ll look at 1 Chronicles 29 and a powerful moment near the end of King David’s life. Before he steps aside, David chooses to move God’s mission forward by pouring out what he’s been given for the sake of those who will come after him. This passage invites us to think beyond the moment we’re living in and consider how God might use our lives, our resources, and our obedience to shape people and purposes far beyond us.
As you prepare your heart this week, reflect on this: if your faith were multiplied into the next generation, what would they inherit from you—comfort or conviction, control or surrender, generosity or fear?
Let’s come ready this Sunday to open our hands, lift our eyes, and ask God to shape a legacy that outlives us.
What’s Happening
FORWARD 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting begins Sunday
January 18–February 7
As we step into the new year, we want to seek the Lord, striving together to cultivate a heart of generosity. We know transformation happens when God’s people humble themselves and seek him. That’s why we’re setting aside the 21 days leading up to Commitment Sunday to pursue him through prayer and fasting.
