Local Missions

New local mission activities are happening all the time. Here are some current opportunities and helpful links.

  • MISSION Literature - (send used Christian literature around the world)

Northbrook goes to the Edwin L. Hodges Ministries in Decatur, AL each month, to sort and package all types of Bible Study literature that is sent overseas to needy churches.

  • Dentention Center Ministry - Pen Pals

Northbrook has a team of ladies who lead in worship and Bible Study each Sunday in the local detention center. During the week the inmates receive letters from various female church members, and are prayed for as requested on prayer cards. Salvation and baptism happens often as these inmates experience God’s Word. Mature Christian women are needed to write a female inmate regulary providing encouragement and mentoring.

  • Home repair for those in need

Northbrook has people who are always willing to help with repairs on homes, as well as new building projects.

  • Build much needed wheelchair ramps

Northbrook has a partnership with Easter Seals through United Way, who helps monetarily on building ramps for handicapped in the area.

  • Teach English as a second language

Northbrook has an English as a Second Language group that meets on Sunday afternoons. There is also a Hispanic Worship service that takes place here on the campus.
